Anoka-Hennepin School has made an Equity Commitment "to create equitable learning environments which provide access, representation, meaningful participation, and highly positive outcomes for each student. Implementation of this commitment involves increased equity training for teachers and staff. 

However, the majority of teachers do not have the skills or language to handle moments of prejudice and disrespect in the classroom that both protects marginalized students and fosters civil discourse. This lack of training leads to more referrals to administration and loss of instructional time.

I've drafted a digital learning experience featuring a realistic, everyday classroom scenario and tools that can be implemented immediately.

The course was designed with an audience of busy teachers in mind. This rhetorical situation led to a short micro-course format, an empathetic, conversational tone, and quick & easy takeaways.

This course is a sample, but the goal would be a decrease in referrals to the office and a high user rating from teachers.
